It looks like this:

I believe this is just the beginning of a long string of these. Throughout much of 2013 this was a daily occurrence. I kept record of the number of daily "new members" for awhile thinking that the forum was booming. Unfortunately, it was something else and to this day I do not understand what.

I see it now (after switching temporarily to Prosilver; it isn't visible in Shopsmith). Still, not sure what it all means. Yes, if you click their names or look at them in the member list you see the website they are promoting. But I sampled these names and the five I randomly selected had not posted even once.

I looked at a much larger sample and your observations are correct. A very, very small percentage of them have posted. What we are unable to see is how many times the listed websites were accessed. I think the objective was too put those web addresses before a very large number of web users hoping that the majority would access those web sites. Browser statistics (and thus browser status) is developed based on the number of site accesses. I believe that some web page developer might have been responsible for these. If so, they are not harmful - just irritating (if you let them be).

All four members with birthdays today, I consider questionable. As stated earlier - not dangerous but a nuisance. Same goes for today's newest member.
