I Can't See Images
I tried multiple browsers with the same results.
Is it me or something broken on the site?

The plot thickens...
Today I'm getting images tried browsers(ie,firefox, and chrome), tried styles (shopsmith,prosilver,subsilver2), and even tried retrieving an image using a non-local server. All worked OK for me.

Re: I Can't See Images
The days and times has got to be a clue.
Since it sdeems to be a 'common' problem, methinks it is independant of browser or format.
For whatever reason the non-displayed images all have a size of zero bytes?????

I believe it shows zero because it can't get the file. The one time I caught it acting up I made a copy of the file.php that retrieves the image (with the intent of adding debugging code to it). But... the copy worked even before I made any changes to it (while the original continued showing the problem). A restart of the web server temporarily "fixed" it. I'm guessing either a lock issue or a resource leak issue. Next time I catch it, I plan to make changes to the file instead of the backup copy and see if simple changes allow the problem to persist long enough to gather more clues.

Photos are down again, admin, so here's your chance! (Just refresh your browser to clear out the images in memory).

Are you saying that the symptom can be eliminated by refreshing the browser (thus acquiring a new set of images)?algale wrote:Photos are down again, admin, so here's your chance! (Just refresh your browser to clear out the images in memory).
What is confusing to me is that when I experience the loss of images it is not all images. Only recently posted images, it seems, are effected.

Dusty, what I was seeing was a loss of all avatars and all photos. Those that appeared to be there disappeared when I refreshed. So refreshing doesn't cure the problem but revealed it.
The pics are now back. This intermittent problem is quite an annoyance.
