Converting 510 fence to bandsaw fence

Hi Guys, I just upgraded from the 510 to 520 fence system and was wondering if it would be possible to modify the 510 fence to work with my SS Band-saw. I have the tubes from the tables and was thinking I could mount one to the front and back of the Band-saw table and then shorten the fence. I do not have a fence for the band-saw and would like to reuse this rather that buying one new, plus the 510 fence looks better than the band saw fence. I get that I would have to cut the fence and re thread the rod, any other issues?

You would have better luck modifying a 500 fence.

Mounting the 'rails' will require adding something to mount them to.

There is the need for a blade access slot in the 'front' rail.

Now if SS will sell you a bandsaw(or upgraded 500 fence) casting, it may be possible to replace the 510 casting. That would allow the clamp end to mount to the existing 'rear' rail on the bandsaw.

Then the shortening will finish the job.(may need a new rear clamp).
