Tapered legs

Post by Ed in Tampa »

Usually tapers are cut on table legs on one or two sides. My question is where should the tapers be cut? On the inside faces or outside faces?

I have noticed a lot of tapered legs that have the the taper cut on the outside edges. To me this makes the table legs look as if they are leaning in. I always thought the taper was cut on the inside surfaces to give the leg a more elegant look, but a straight appearance.

However I don't know for certain. What is you opinion?

I taper only the 2 inside faces, but whatever you (or you client) want dictates which are tapered.
