Tomorrow brings operation #3 (3/11/2015). They think they have located parathyroid that is malfunctioning. They hope to get to it from the neck but it lower then normal so there is some possibilities they will have to crack my chest open... sure hope that doesn't happen.

So do I look at this as the third time is the charm or 3 strikes and you are out?

Anyway I'll be away from wood working for a while. Well that and most other things I would much rather be doing. That 5 pound rule makes sure of that.

Got to be up at 5:00, at the hospital by 6:00, get injected so they can take some gama ray pictures and still don't have the actual time of the operation. If it is the simple version I'll be back home on the 12th. If it is the other case then it is open ended.

Still feel fine, and I hope to again in a short while, have to as I have a lot to do.

I am sure that you will be in the thoughts and prayers of many of us. You are on my prayer list. The only concern that I have for you and your recovery is whether or not you can abide by the restrictions for as long as they would like. I sure did not. Don't do as I did. I am paying the price. You don't want to do that.

We'll be looking forward to hearing from you.

Wow, Ed! Just read of your condition. I wish you the best of luck and let's hope they don't "crack you chest" because I found recovery from that is not much fun.

Thank you all for your kind thoughts and of course the prayers.

Things went well, and I was home by noon yesterday. No need for broken bones or other extreme measures. So third time was the charm.

No desire to go to the shop yet, well maybe a little but I can control it.

Have a little postoperative brain cloud and this strange desire to visit a volcano and to change my name to Joe but that too will pass.(movie reference)

Have a walk planned for this afternoon and then another nap.... ruff life but I don't want to get too use to it as there is still much I want to do in life.

Take it from someone who learned the hard way, Ed. Recovery does not end the week you get home from the hospital. Think months. If it turns out to be weeks that will be great.

Just make sure the glue bottle is closed tight! When I finally returned to the shop my large bottle of glue was thicker than molasses. I could not squeeze glue out.

Hang in there. There is a lot of saw dust yet to be made.

Started on a project today. Not to worry it was going through a couple of woodworking catalogs getting some orders ready. I think this might worry the wife more then if I were in the shop.....

Just have to make sure nothing that I order weighs in at over 5 pounds.
