Creepy Experience

I searched and found nothing.

Recently the blade moves to the left and contacts the edge of the insert. I've just marked the tubes on both sides of the carriage and on both sides of the table to see if the creep is from the motor or the table but don't have any data as yet. Any suggestions?

You mark the headstock? You mark the quill?

OK, I've "only" got a Model 10, but here's MY experience.

Headstock, locked in place. Quill retracted, and locked in place.
Carriage, up against the headstock centering bolt, (positions the carriage
to the right place for saw actions, on the Model 10) and locked in place.

Everything is now locked horizontally, to the front way tube, except the quill,
which is locked to the headstock. (Which, itself IS indeed locked to the front
way tube!)

Of course, I've only got the meager Model 10, (which is NOT as good {in some
people's opinion} as the vaunted Mark Series. (Except the Mk2, which was a VAST
step DOWN from the Model 10!) YMMV.

I was going to say it is an ID10T detector, except I LIKE Db5!

More details! Different saw blade...same result? Standard insert? Table and fence aligned? Maybe fasteners loose somewhere.

Sorry to admit, I've had creep sometimes. For me it is usually failure to lock the carriage.

Definitely check the arbor set screw, and be sure that yours has the correct one in place (the bottom has a different shape). If that comes loose you could have more than a creep problem! Yikes!

Same thing!

BTW the middle 'letter' s/b an 'I'!

Of the 5 operator actuated 'locks' we can ignore 2(table height and table tilt. That leaves the three already 'checked'. If the blade/arbor were 'loose' other problems would be lurking.

My guess is carriage lock(may need adjustment-tightening).

zero. "0."

It's pronounced "ID-ten-t," and used in the phrase,
"Id-ten-t error over there, without the ID10T being
aware he is being mocked.

The phrase is in conjunction with the acronym,
PEBKAC. (Problem exists between chair and keyboard.)
