I will get the the SS, but my wood shop still needs wired and all of the catch-all stuff removed. I working at it, but here in Pittsburgh, PA our weather is just getting to Spring. I still have perma-frost in much of my driveway, so I must take it, day by day!

I am now a Proud New Owner of a SS Mark V. My initial review of the machine is, that it received a two bearing upgrade and it also has the off set tubes for the band saw.
Other than that, no further info. I drove 400 miles, round trip to purchase this and I left the house at 7:15 am this morning and did not get back until, 6:30 pm. Long day. It was all that I could do, to bring it into my garage. I did not want it to draw damp.
But once again, I AM PROUD NEW OWNER of a SS Mark V.

Congratulations! You will be amazed as to how functional it is. If you are like many, there will be another in the near future .... there is just something about them than makes you want another ....ExtraMile wrote:I am now a Proud New Owner of a SS Mark V. Or more SPTs and other accessories! Welcome to the affliction/addiction.
Must have been frustrating to get all that home and not play with it.

Re: Date code and SN on 510
What is an SPT? And I highly doubt I will be buying another, until I can be a "for profit" wood worker. See, at the age of 54, my former company laid me off on a permanent basis. And this was 2/2014. And since then, I have come to realize, that most employers "will not hire me" because of my age.
So, I am at a crossroads of my life.
Back, when I was a kid, I would always be found doing wood working. Then when I was in HS, I went to Vo-Tech for Carpentry. And still later, I went to Technical School for Architectural Drafting!
Have I ever been employed, doing such things? Nope!
So here I am, welcome to the rest of my life...
