Woodworking Show Milwaukee Last Week

Post by tomsalwasser »

Greetings fellow sawdust makers and tool collectors!

I spent last weekend in Milwaukee visiting my son and his lovely wife. I also spent a good deal of time at the Woodworking Show. Anybody else there? It was crowded and a lot of fun. I-94 was all tore up near the show, which was a hassle. I attended some really good presentations, all free, except for the presentation by Marc Adams on veneering, which cost $50. In hindsight, his presentation was no better than the free ones and I would not recommend attending that one. A good series of presentations by a very nice man named Bob Settich were my favorite. There were bargains to be had if you know what you're looking at. I bought an Easy Wood Full Finisher for $116. They're $129 everywhere else. I found a few other miscellaneous treasures like a bag of 100 pre-finished wooden drawer knobs for $10. Actually I think it was $10, they only took cash and I did not get a receipt :) I go through a lot of these knobs and I know they cost a small fraction of the knobs I buy now. I last attended a WWShow in St Paul a few years ago but they stopped coming to St Paul a while back. I did recognize a few of the demonstrators from back then. The good ones can sell a lot of product. This guy was selling a ton of these:

Thank you for bringing this to our attention, for those of us who cannot or have not that kind of show coming around our area. Thanks again. Very interesting to learn about this new track adaptable to any portable saw.

And I also did not realised that the one sold by Shopsmith was by the same brand.

Hey thanks Mike I did not know Shopsmith carries the TrueTrac system.

The WW Show is in Tampa this week, the last show of the season. The starter kit is $149.99 at the show. The 8' combo kit is $249.99. Everything is available to take home with you.
