I'm back...

Post by colday »

Some five years ago the LOML came down with breast cancer, since that time I stopped reading and posting here and stopped all work in the shop.

Well, she is cancer free! :D And now I'm back in the shop! ;)

Here is an addition to the storage bench I started five years ago, you will notice 4 finished drawers in the bench, that is when it happened. The lumber center is still in process also, but I plan to start making drawers tomorrow.

I have a lot to do, and then I need to give my Mark V some needed care. Then maybe I can get to actually make something!

Any way, it is nice to see many of the folks I knew years ago are still here. Anything new?

It is good news indeed. I just got my wife back late last year after she had a stroke in 2013 and was out of the home, hospitalized or in an in-resident rehabilitation for 11 months. She can now walk with a cane and is learning to speak again.

I know how excited I am and I can only imagine how thrilled you are to have your wife cancer free after all this time.

Blessings.

Thanks y'all!

She obviously was "better" some time ago, but I just wanted to spend every waking minute with her. We both have grown much closer to the Lord and with each other, so once again He turns bad into good!

But, the shop had got to a point that it screamed for help. The lumber center is from ShopNotes 138, modified to fit my needs. The router table is mounted with a piano hinge at the front, to make bit changes much easier. I plan to rebuild the bottom shelf so that it is on long shelf with 4 drawers rather than split. I also need to rip out the electrical and redo that. Oh, and make 26 drawers!

We both still work, and our weekend is usually chock full, so I only get to spend an hour or so during the day in the shop, but at least I'm back making sawdust!
