A Re-Introduction

I don't know if you noticed but I haven't been around the forum for the past couple of years. I also haven't done much woodworking in the past couple of years either.

It's good to see that most of the people I remember are still posting and active. I also see new members that I am not familiar with; so welcome aboard.

For those that don't remember, I bought my one and only Shopsmith new back around 1976? (memory is not what it used to be). I have upgraded it to a 520 with an upgrade kit I got from Bill Mayo. It has held up well and as you will soon see is still getting the job done.

I also have several SPTs that I purchased new over the years including a Pro Planer, jointer, belt sander, strip sander, and DC3300.

I got back into woodworking late last year when my son asked me to build some boxes as gifts he could give to clients of his business. They turned out well and the clients were very complimentary of the gifts.

After that my daughter-in-law's sister asked me to fix an antique dining table she had inherited from her great grandmother. The table had pedestal legs with three feet on each pedestal. The feet were coming loose from the pedestals and were pretty shaky. I detached all of the feet; re-drilled for new oversized dowels and then put it back together. I had to build some jigs in order to do this but all worked out well and she is VERY happy.

Since then I have done some other projects that I will elaborate if future posts.

It's good to be back.

Actually, not string but "excelsior". The crates were packed with goodies and given to their clients.
