Thank you for all the information and encouragement given on my last restoration. I am definitely well on my way to an obsession and a growing collection of these wonderful machines(until the boss tells me no more hehe). I picked up my third 10E on the weekend. I found it on eBay. I was in 2 minds about buying it but hey.....why not
The motor is a heavy duty 1hp motor which still runs like a dream even the bearings in the headstock are quite smooth.
It has the lowest serial number of my collection so far, S/N 135. It has some slight differences to the other 2 machines I have. The swivel baseplate is the rounded version not squared off like the others. The casting is much rougher. The handles on the carriage locks are bent differently. I also notice the name plates on the Australian version are printed not engraved like the American version.
It might be a while till i get much time to fix this one up. It is in pieces and stored ready for that day
