Here're pictures of mine
I just found this thread and thought I'd show you mine since you don't have yours. I got this at a surplus/clearance sale at the mother ship in Vandalia some 20 or so years ago. I don't recall if it was a return, reconditioned unit, or whatever. My "Air System" manual has a 9/91 errata sheet in it. I never really used it because I too got a pancake compressor.
This past week an older 500 in this area was sold on eBay that included the other canister style compressor.

I'm adding these photos of the other type of SS compressor to this thread to complete the historical record. I captured these from an eBay listing posted by an eBayer with the eBay id of 44uncledick. This item sold on 2/21/12 for $125. I don't have any data such as to when this compressor was first offered for sale, for how long, or for how much.

Re: Shopsmith Air Compressor System
Does anyone have the manual for the Air System? I recently got one from CL with no manual? It had the hose and tank with it. Thx.

It's definitely available in 1954. See the attached 1954 Accessories Catalog that listed both 10ER and Mark 5 (Yes it was Mark 5 then, and migrated to Mark V.)
It's listed on page 5 and sold in 1954 for $49.95, and is listed beside the 9" standard saw blades that were standard on the early machines through the Greenie's.
When they moved to 10" blades, that's when the motor began to bog down noticeably, and they introduced the 1 1/8 HP motors shortly thereafter.

The 9" versions included the Goldies which acquired a 1 1/8 hp motor with the poly-v belt 'improvement'. The 10" blades started with the Mark VII.
There are two versions of the air compressor. See previous posts.

Re: Shopsmith Air Compressor System
I have been looking for one of the later CH compressor models for about a year now.
Didn't know Goldie's came with 9" blades. I guess the ones I had seen had tables upgraded as all I saw had 10" blades. I had seen Greenies with 9" blades but not the Goldie's. I learn something new from you JPG almost every time you post. Thanks!

Re: Shopsmith Air Compressor System
SS no longer sells the 9" blade, so, one gets what one can. All is well until one lowers the table too far using the 'second slot' and a 10" blade.everettdavis wrote:I have been looking for one of the later CH compressor models for about a year now.
