Pulled the trigger and ordered a router (Porter Cable 7518). Now I have to build a router table. I'm thinking of a lift, specifically the Incra Mast-R-Lift II. It's pricy, but If I'm spending this much on a router and then building a table, I want something that works well. Anyone have this system? In regards to the table, I purchased Norm's plans from Yankee Workshop. Looks like a doable plan for someone with my limited abilities!

Congratulations!!
I have the same duo, PC 7518 and the Jessem lift. Can't beat it. You won't be sorry.

Re: Pulled the trigger on a router
Why do I get the feeling that I'm being pulled into another tool vortex?

Ditto here. My router table is built around the same combo and Am extremely pleased. As far as the router goes it will power through just about everything and the Jessum lift is great. Everything I have purchased from Jessum has been of amazing quality. I highly recommend their para align feather boards.

I have the same router but my lift is a Bench Dog mounted in a Bench Dog cast iron table top. I designed the cabinet myself but it pretty much looks like Norm's. I also have a Wixey digital readout.

Chris,
I just recently bought the Incra Mast-R-Lift II, will use it initially with my Hitachi M12VC, but would move to the 7518 or similar if/when I need more power. I put it in a temporary table top, but haven't yet used it. I plan on making a table that fits on the end of my 510, similar to others posted here.
The Mast-R-Lift seems extremely well made. It is bigger and heavier than I had pictured from the various photos of it. The magnets hold the reducer rings in place very firmly; this was a concern when I first started researching between the JessEm and Incra, but saw so many comments about the rings not moving yet easy to install/remove that I chose the Incra.
It was pretty simple to set the size to hold the Hitachi, just follow the instructions and 10 minutes or so later I had the router installed in the lift, including a few minutes looking it over. This ability to support different routers without having to buy an adapter for each router type is the feature that ultimately sold me on the lift.
