Fire Engine Bed

Post by swishdog »

:) I chuckled when I read your post. In approximately 1982, my neighbor built a fire engine bed for his son. For the limited amount of tools he had I thought he did a very good job. He built the bed in his driveway, but apparently did not take into consideration how he was going to get it though the door. In the end I helped him remove part of an outside window and we got it in that way. I don't know how or if he removed it when he moved.

I saw this thread and was surprised to see it originated with my request in 2008. The twin boys are two and a-half and I haven't started the project. It is on the to-do list. The kids just moved into a new house that might accommodate this rather large bed.

As for your posting. The plans were published in Plywood PlanBook, American Plywood Associated, HPBooks. I purchased the book from an on-line reseller. The original plans I worked from had full size layout pages for some of the cuts, but the plans in the book are really straight forward and well diagrammed.

Your welcome to PM me if you want me to fax or e-mail the pages to you.

Enjoy, Gary

Go to the upper right corner of this forum page and click on the words "Private Messages"

Then look at the left hand column and find "Send New Message". From there you will be directed to enter the user name of the recipient and leave a message.

An easier way is to click on the members 'name' on one of their posts, then click on 'send private message'.

That works with XP (maybe non-Chrome). Since going to Win 8 with Chrome, I have been unable to have results by clicking on the member's name at the top of a post.
However, I have been able to get to a member's Profile by clicking on his name when located in the "Last Post" column, but not at the beginning of a post.

Another one of those Chrome changes? Always complications:eek:
