I located a sawmill, of which has sticker stacked, dried lumber, that has been drying for 10 to 15 years, under roof. All of which where at the time, considered to be "outs" Outs IMHO, is wood with character. I intend to visit soon. The sawmill owner told me, that the sticker stacks, have all species, all thicknesses, sticker stacked together. No rime or reason, just sticker stacked. He also told me, that this wood, would be sold to me at a fair price. Sounds like I found my supplier!
I keep praying for guidance and asking for compass points. There is power in prayer!

Re: Compass Points
LUCKY, LUCKY! go for as much as you can afford.
I just paid $10/Bd Ft for black walnut. Thought I got a fair deal, since most is going for $12 to $14.
Hint - buy the widest and thickest lumber you can find. You can always saw down and plane to size. Plenty of cutoffs are good for pens or other stuff.
BTW I now have enough walnut to make over 10,000 pens.
Or other projects
