Missing standard parts

So, I come to find out that my Mark V has several parts missing on it, that were standard operational parts. A.)Shopsmith Power Coupler. B.)Lathe Drive Center. C.)Tailstock Live Center. D.)Precision Drill Chuck and Key
E.)A bracket that attaches the guard to the table saw.

So tomorrow, I will be calling Shopsmith to order all of these.
Perhaps the best thing is, that the former owners son is willing to split the cost 50/50 with me!

I am relatively certain they came with a dead center but not live center. Granted the live center is something which would have been nice, however live center is an option. Even the new Mark 7s only come with a dead center.

Does anyone have spare parts from the Mark V's of the earlier era (30+) years old? I have a upper table saw guard (metal), that is missing its "splitter and the anti-kick back fingers!

I do not wish to buy the upgrade, to the new acrylic/pvc "upper/lower" guard set up!

My heavens, $220+

Please advise!

Recommend you start watching eBay for those kind of parts. There are some folks who apparently buy whole machines and disassemble and sell components. Such as here: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Shopsmith-Mark- ... 4637e11c18.

I agree with above post. Live center is an option. If you want one, Shopsmith has them. Power couplers are consumable items. Mine came with 2 originally, and if you don't break them eventually, you aren't using your Shopsmith enough.

I totally disagree with you on power couplers being a consumable Item. SS only supplys one with new machines AFAIK. Mine only came with one. They are almost indestructible. I have my original from 1994 and it shows almost no signs of ware. I would say if your are breaking power couplers you are abusing your machine.

I have an original 10ER coupler that is still good as well as my 1982 coupler! (And I know I don't use them enough!)
