Makin' Sawdust

Post by ExtraMile »

I discovered a treasure trove of 10 to 15 year old, sticker stacked "call outs" at a friend of a friends, sawmill. And now, I am like a kid in a candy store, pickin' through his piles.

Black Walnut, Cherry, Oak, Sasafrass, Hickory, Maple you name it!
They are all stacked together and I need to fish through his stacks and then re stack em. But that is a small price to pay, for this beautiful wood!

Well, don't just talk about it, start sharing! :D

(You want my address?)

Seriously, GOOD SCORE!

(You want my address, and some $ for shipping and stuff?)

I want to try an angled, stacked wood pepper grinder,
and would like some stock to work with.

10 ER, stripped down.
Basic 10ER, Parts machine. Will be a semi-dedicated drill-press machine.
10 ER, a "survivor" of the trailer fire, in the back yard, needing restoration. Has a Mk5 headrest. Finally, stripped down.
Numerous parts, for Model 10 stuff. Except for lower saw guard, A and B adapters, I've got it.

Looking for one more, or some 9 inch extension table raisers.

How much do ya need? I have a 3x4 inch post of black walnut, planed down to "only" remove the roughness. Do you want a 6 to 12 inch length of it?

Are you serious sir???? :D

Where I live trees are not so plentiful...

I would love to get my hands on some good stock for playing around with. My Nook boxes are going to need something light and dark. What have you got, and what do I have to do to get it LOL :D

Don't get too anxious there. Remember, you are in the recovery process. You are not healed. Oops, that sounds a lot like something my wife would say.

Here we go again Immense One ... :D

The largest Ponderosa Pine Forest is found in New Mexico and covers almost half of the state. Along with Aligator Juniper, Cedar, Popular, Aspen, Blue Spruce, et al. We just can't get to it because it "belongs" to the Feds  and we are not allowed to harvest down and dead ... go figure.

Oh, as far as grass goes, I's wonder what my poppa's cattle used to eat ....

But keep trying, I will educate you, I have lots of time now .... :D

Hey, I think I was the one who asked! :D

Mile, I'd REALLY like whatever you can spare.

PM me with prices. I'd like some boards, not
lathe blanks. I want to glue up a decent
pepper mill, or 2. Walnut and oak, or whatever
you want to part with. Contrasting colors are my
idea here.

YES!

Or, a slice off of it.

That would look BEAUTIFUL in a pepper mill.

(I need to proofread more carefully!)
