I know there has been a lot of posts about out feed tables. I came across the SS extension table brackets while cruising the catalog. Has anyone tried them ? Just curious.

Re: Extension Table Brackets
I have used them and I know of at least one (make that two other members) other member who has. I like mine and I use them; more so when I first got them but much less now.
I have an outfeed table that I built without the use of extension table brackets. I built my own brackets and a system to support the outfeed table without having the adjustable leg. Details (ad nauseum) are all contained in threads with appropriate titles for the subject.

Re: Extension Table Brackets
Thanks Dusty. I followed your table build and probably will build one like yours eventually. I just saw those brackets and wondered if they worked.

Re: Extension Table Brackets
I have two sets and used them a lot when I was working in my garage and the SS was the only table saw. Now with the dedicated shop and a Powermatic table saw they don't see much use. I also created a large table without the brackets for cutting sheet goods.masonsailor2 wrote:I know there has been a lot of posts about out feed tables. Re: Extension Table Brackets
Put a lot of thought into any outfeed table that you might build. Mine is quite simple but I changed it about six times before I quit making changes. I believe that an outfeed table is a "must have" to do work on the Shopsmith. The small size of the table become inconsequential with the addition of extension/floating table and an outfeed table.masonsailor2 wrote:Thanks Dusty. I also have the Shopsmith brackets and they work well; but as Dusty's design proves, there are ways to construct your own outfeed table without the use of those brackets.

Re: Extension Table Brackets
I may someday use Dusty's design. Not high on the list but would be an interesting project. I have a dedicated Rockwell with unifence that I built into a 4'X8' table but there are times I set up multiple saws for projects that require more than one setup in the milling process. In those times the added out feed table would be nice to have. Plus my table saw is only 10" and the Shopsmith has a greater depth of cut with a 10" blade and will accept a 12" blade if necessary.

Re: Extension Table Brackets
I use my two other machines to act as out feed tables. Usually using the 10ER as the goto out feed table machine because it is usually in a configuration where the main table is already attached. I am a noob, but I find the use of the 500 and the 10ER invaluable as out feed tables.
