Thank you for sharing your experience and research.
Could you elaborate on the "better herbal remedies" you found.
I have noted myself sitting while voiding helps and that caffeine (tea or coffee) can result in better flow, but any other ways to postpone the inevitable would be appreciated.
Best wishes

Are you sure that you are voiding? Failure to void is not necessarily a detectable symptom. I first learned that I was not voiding when the urologist performed an ultrasound immediately after I had given him a urine sample. I now know that I am not voiding because I relieve myself and then catheter away what is left in the bladder. The real numbers are quit surprising.

Not sure of anything. During times of reduced flow I keep trying til I feel empty, this can sometimes take a while, Sudoku helps pass the time.
I will get this checked out on my next Doctors visit.

The Bells tea will work the fastest. You could actually see major relief in a few days to a week. It is a tea and is pretty awful :D but it does work. The prostate essence is easier to do, but the results are not as quick. I would suggest that you get your Dr to "take a picture" when you see him. The tea will help in the mean time! :D

These health issues are important but let me say that the best advice is to check with your Doctor. Of course it your health.

In my case I have a slightly elevated levels that showed up in my annual physical a while back. BPH was flagged and I was sent to a specialist where they have me stopping in every 6 months for evaluation. Since my numbers are just above normal they are not to concerned, but if they go up well then that might be another story.

I do have an enlarged prostate so I might face some of the complications at some point but for now things seem pretty normal. Well enough that I pass the written exam the Dr. likes to hand out and things don't seem to be changing at least for now.

I did ask about taking some over the counter medications but he doesn't believe in them since they don't do real clinical testing. Since there is no incentive to prove they work the companies don't see a pay off in having testing done especially at their expense. Without the testing who knows what is going on? So he says don't do it, you could end up causing more problems in the long run. Masking the problem is not the same as fixing it.

So before you start taking "drugs" talk to your doctor. It is simply irresponsible to do other wise.

If the docs do as good a job of restoring your hardware as you did your 10ER's, you will be better than new in short order! (And your machinery is just about the same vintage, if memory serves.)

By freak coincidence, I am sitting in an exam room right now for my own annual PM. I always hate the prostrate exam part, but somehow I just didn't mind it as much this year.

Get well soon!
I have had a recurring dream (twice) about my "parts" being Verde green and silver post operation ....
Well, ole' Argentmember :D , you already paid me back. I read your prostate post yesterday, and sure enough, last night I dreamed I was having prostate surgery!

But seriously, thanks for the sharing what you've learned, although I certainly hope to never need that knowledge. Your advice reminds me of "The Surgeon's Creed", as related to me by a surgeon friend. To wit:

A chance to cut's a chance to heal ... nothing cures like stainless steel!
