Lots of Quail Dove and rabbits around there on which to dine.
The cats leave the Javalina alone, though.

Yeah, I'll bet they do. Javelina are vicious, tenacious killers when provoked.

Until the city closed in around us, we could witness nature at its fullest. We seldom see the cats or the javelina anymore. Seldom being the operative word. Coyotes are still frequent visitors but usually in small groups or singles. They used to pass through here in packs. When in packs they are to be avoided.

Yeah, the javalina are also regular visitors as well as the coyotes.
He's just a few hundred yards from the Saguaro Monument's west boundary so the wildlife abounds.
6' high fence is an obstacle to none of them. The javalina come through the driveway gate and the rest fly or jump over. I've watched the cats and the coyotes clear it easily, and in stride, as if it wasn't even there.

We used to have a cougar that went up on our roof. We could hear him/her walking around and occasionally would see it peering in one of the skylights. I always worried about one stepping on the skylight and falling into the house. Fortunately, that has not happened again in a long time (cat on the roof I mean).

I was on a birdwatching tour to southern AZ a few years ago and just before arriving in Portal, we saw a Bobcat perched at the top of a telephone pole. We were wondering why it was "up the pole" and while we watched it start to climb down, another Bobcat chased it back up again. We left before the standoff ended.

I have seen a few here in Mich but as was said they did not stay still long enough for a picture. Several years ago we had a late deer season and I saw one that I watch for 15 mins or so. I have an area on our land that is white birch and it came and sat in the snow under these trees. Every year we have a bear or 2 on our deck. Last fall one stood up and looked thru the slider and left foot prints on the door about 5 foot up from the deck. I see them quite a bit while I am in the woods sometimes a little closer than I like
