Early Fathers Day

Post by reible »

Or so I'm telling myself. Now normally I buy myself tools with any extra money I save up (OK sometimes I do buy other stuff). So far that has worked well for me but then I started reminiscing with one of my sons the other day about some nice headphones I use to have.

The headphone I got while in Vietnam and I had them for that tour and they came home with me because I loved them. While attending school and making a transition to civilian life after being in a combat zone for a year I would lay on the floor and listen to music with them on. It was an amazing way to relax.

After the kids came along they adopted my headphones and while they lasted a long while they finally wore out. The ear pieces basically fell apart and they had to go. Don't recall the year but it was long ago now.

This one son of mine is now getting in to high end turntables, yea I did that too but that too was long ago. So we were working on his getting rid of a hum issue he had and we started talking about those old headphones. And, I got to thinking it was time to get another pair of good ones for myself.

My stress level has been higher this last year due to medical issues, not as stressful as going out on missions with my dog or as stressful as returning home and going back to school but still more stress then I've had since retirement started.

As expected headphones are a lot more expensive then they use to be, well high end ones anyway. I'd been saving some money up for a digital video recorder but was not up to the $300 I need for that. I did however have enough for some pretty high end head phones. So I'm telling myself that this is my fathers day gift to myself...... Early because I got a better deal on them now then I would have at fathers day.

You can check them out here:

No I did not pay that much but the link gives you a look see at them.

Now I get to see if they still help me relax........ and yes I know it is overkill as my hearing is not what it use to be.

So that is the story and now I'm going to listen to some music as my work day is over.

There is NOTHING like music for soothing the inner self. If it wasn't for my studio, I don't know what I would do.

Congrats, nice HP's .......

BTW, I use Audio Technica microphones on the saxs and fiddle, absolutely the best in the business IMHO .....

These headphones are nice. And even better then that my Dr. visit had nothing but good news for me, well at least on the more major concerns I've had. I'd give the headphones credit but I had the tests done before they arrived.

So if your wondering what to get yourself for fathers day or just want some seriously nice headphones these fit the bill.
