headrest adapted to it. I know about the A and B
adapters, but for over $100, for a pound of aluminum?
I'm NOT that rich. (My headrest was $10 or 15, shipped!)

Yes it certainly did. The A34 jig saw and the 4E jointer. And as you say the A and B adapters allow use of MK V SPT's. What does the price of the A and B adpters have to do with weather the 10ER supports SPT's?

Well ... mine came with both the original jigsaw and the jointer. And, of course, a Model 10 also supports making your own wooden adapter for Mark V SPTs, like this cool one that came with Shipwright's 10ER.

Come on JPG. The 10ER supports SPT's as you said. As I said what does the price have to do with it? It supports all the MK V SPT's except the planer. Who is a normal person? The A and B adapters are very rare. I scored a complete set on eBay a few years ago for $275. With the pulley and the SPT legs. I have not seen them since then. Skip Campbell sells an SPT adapter and the headstock pulley that does the same thing that the original Magna parts did.

Remember us old fogeys are living on a fixed income typically.

My 10er is still in a lot of pieces but someday I might be getting it back together and one thing I did consider was being able to run spt off of it.
To that end I did buy the pulley that you need but failed to get the other hardware on several attempts. Those with deeper pockets always bid more then I was willing to go.

I have seen a couple of after market system but was not too impressed with the workmanship, especially the welding. I've got a couple of ideas floating in my brain on how I might make my own but that would only be after I have mine together.

I've stopped shopping ebay for the last while, too many other pans in the fire and not wanting to waste my time visiting the site just to look. Perhaps in the fall or winter things will work out so I have more time for these sort of projects.

The other thing I've looked at is the lathe extension, love to have one of those as well.

OK, fine but the original question was "Did the Model 10 REALLY support SPTs?" The answer to that question is most definitely yes and it supported them from the factory.

Maybe for the record you should definitively state which SPT it did support and which it did not support. We all know that almost anything can be adapted.
