Steel blades can be resharpened and then used for the MDF and plywood projects.

Steel blades can be a great tool, if it is sharpened right.
I true the steel blades for roundness, before I set and sharpen the teeth.
First you have to true the blade for roundness, any blade. I have had 2 SS carbide blades out round. The guy I took them to be sharped told me that they were out of round and that he trued them first before he sharpen them.
They sure did cut a lot better after I got them back.
If a blade is out of round, less then half the teeth are cutting.

I have several old steel blades that I got from my grandfather, that I use on my SS. And I like using them. The planner blade I like the best. Easy to true and sharpen.
