Bluetooth for a car without natvie support question(s)

Post by reible »

My 2000 van is way to old to have bluetooth but I can see how it would be nice to have it. The stereo has a cd player and tape player but no input jacks.

In the distance past I had a special cassette that would plug in the player that had a stereo plug on it so you could get things like your computer to output sound through your cars system.

I've also had a tuner that allowed a mp3 player to play after you tuned in to an unused FM station and plug it into a mp3 player.

Both of these are quite old and not in all that great of condition anymore so I'm thinking I'd like to get something new, something new being perhaps a bluetooth receiver that would output to the FM radio. It would also be nice to have it usable with a smart phone. One of my sons gives me his old phones and pays for my phone service so right now I have a Samsung S3.

Anyone have experience with such a thing and perhaps a few things to look for or avoid? I thinking of paying say $30 for this so if that gets me in the ball park of something you know about that would be great.

I didn't look at the link, but you can feed audio from the phone's earphone jack to a FM transmitter wigit that can be powered either by USB, Sig lighter, or batteries. :D

This was pretty much what I was looking for, thank you!

It looks like phone or music with the both not having a really good solution. That is one of the criteria that you need to establish in picking what you want. I'm leaning towards better music and not as good phone...... I'm not a big phone user so I think that makes since for me.

I just got a box from Amazon in the mail today, should have waited a few days on that order and I could have gotten it all at once, oh well there will be more orders come in the future anyway and I only need 1 cent to get to the free shipping, not an issue.

Yep I have one of those but like I indicated it is old and not in the best shape anymore from years of use which ended when my MP3 player died a couple of years back. I have another one but it is just a cheap one and finding songs etc is a real pain even if you have two hands to use and can look at it while trying to read the tiny screen..... the apple one was a lot better.
