I got an email today from my ISP warning of the latest snafu with Windows 10 hiding your bookmarks for your browser if you upgrade. They are offering their users help in getting around the latest Microsoft mess.
Here is more information about it.

For what it is worth, MS has tried to tie Cortana and Edge so that they work seemlessly. My guess is that in the future you will see more symbiosis with non-MS programs. One thing that makes me think that is the case is their attempts to incorporate some of Google's internals. I don't use Yahoo but tested it within W10. It has similar problems to Firefox.
Java has been embraced within W10. Some of the documentation shows MASSIVE updates as soon as two weeks with an even bigger service pack in October.
I copied my Firebox bookmarks as a precaution.
Though I do like what I have been seeing, for some it might be wise to wait until early November to upgrade to 10. I think by then many of the bugs will be worked out because a wider group of users will have found more that needs 'adjusting'
I still think it is vastly superior to 8.1

Be well,
Ben

Any bugs they work out will quickly be replaced with new ones. ;)

Is there anything that isn't vastly superior to Windows 8.1? (Yes, Windows 8)

Yes windows 10 did a few adjustments but none of them took more then about 3 minutes to fix. I use a few programs that I like better then the ones microsoft has incorporated but setting the preferences was easy.

I should point out that I upgraded over 8.1 and that I using firefox without issue.

So far I'm very happy and have done everything I normal do with out a glitch or crash or any other issues.

Now this is not hearsay but actual use of windows 10 from which I speak.

My Surface was running 8.1 and it just updated to Win 10 last night. The first thing I noticed was there was no icon for internet explorer and my favorites were not there in the new edge, however I typed in a search for ie and it came up with all my favorites. Then I found in edge I could import all my favorites from ie with no problems. So far it seems fine.

How about a review on the surface?
I'm toying with the idea to buy one.. I keep flipping between the surface and the Apple air

I have only had the Surface for about a month now, but so far I love it. I use it mainly for browsing and still getting used to it. It seems to operate as fast as my wife's I-pad, especially on boot up. Having grown up with Dos., I have a very hard time trying to use my daughter's Apple laptop. I was given the Surface as a gift from my daughter and her husband for helping to install a bathroom in their basement. The one I have came with the keyboard cover combo and it works great!

Windows 10. Does it have anything like the Snipping Tool that was first provided in Windows 7. I got fond of that capability and used it a lot.

I don't have 10 to check it out, but a quick Google search indicates that 10 does have the snipping tool you like.
