Contemplating upgrading to PP from 510 and been reading the comments of the auto shutoff when there is excessive heat build up. Great feature in protecting your investment.
Concern is that my working environment is not ideal as I am setup in my garage living in Las Vegas. Average month high temperatures are; January 58°, February 63° , March 69°, April 78°, May 88° , June 100° , July 106°, August 103°, September 95°, October 82°, November 67°, December 58° and most concerned about the summer months. I stop working with the SS at 110. Realizing that the summer months will reduce the use of the SS w/PP at what outside temperature would limit my usage? I understand your input would mostly be an educated guess but it will help me to determine if the upgrade would worth the investment.

106F is 41C. That's nothing for modern electronics. The rated operating temperature of low-end "commercial-grade" electronics is 70C. I recently designed a motor drive in which no component was rated at less than 100C, and most were rated for at least 125C. The component-cost penalty for that was quite modest.
If the designers know what they are doing, the over-temperature self-protection feature will guarantee you many, many years of reliable service. Running at high temperatures will indeed cause the electrolytic capacitors to fail sooner than than they would otherwise. But at hobbiest duty factors, they will in all liklihood outlast the user.

Electronic equipment ( as well as everything else) operates well above ambient air temperature. No problem.

No scientific facts, Alan, but I think you re over thinking this heat issue.
Here in the mojave desert, it is 105 to 107 for the last week, Well, only 80 in my shop. The PowerPro runs just fine.
