I have a chance to pick up a Mark II and 10er for dirt cheap w/ lots of extras. I know the Mark II items will fit my Mark V. Is there a market for the parts I do not need for this less then Ideal system? The 10 er I am going to clean up and parts out or maybe set it up as a drill press.

The 10ER does make an outstanding drill press. Other than belts and maybe bearings every 50 years or so, the 10ER will operate forever. There is a good market for the buying and selling 10ER parts on Ebay. The Mark II was even more limited than the Mark VII and appears to use the 10ER drive and belt system from what I can see from the pictures. Therefore, I would keep and use the Mark II as a drill press. I would remove the legs, bench tubes and headrest and mount it on a bench or small portable stand with casters in the vertical position. I mount the carriage and headstock upside down on the way tubes when I use 10ERs and Mark Vs as only drill presses. It takes a less room that way. I would sell the 10ER parts. Used Mark II Shopsmiths and parts appear not to sell on Ebay as I believe there are only a few Mark IIs still being used.
