Mark VII transport

Good morning, I'm thinking about picking up a Mark VII off from craigs list.

I have a couple of Mark V's. those, I have transported in my KIA soul. Does the Mark VII come apart as easily as the mark V? I did find the thread here where someone did take apart the Mark VII, but will those components fit in the back of a KIA Soul-- with the seats down of course ?

I don't know the answer, but at times like this don't you wish you had a pickup? I don't think I could get by without mine.

although, you'd be shocked at what I can carry in a KIA soul with a cargo basket in the back.

I brought mine home in my PT Cruiser. P.S. I really like my Mark VII

Just out of curiosity, did you remove the headstock and the way / bench tubes? Or did you keep them assembked? I'm thinking that I can slide the whole headstock / bench way tube assembly into the rear of my car. The stand would then go on my cargo carrier. Idk though. I'm getting it tomorrow, I'll post pictures when loaded

The upper assembly is simply removed from the base by releasing both pivot locks. It is a mite heavy!

The base is big and awkward. It surprisingly is not real heavy(all formed sheet metal). Way too many screws to disassemble for transport.

Just to close out the post and for future seekers...

the mark VII will fit well in the back of a kia soul.

The headstock / tube assembly is about 59" in length and the base is just a little longer than that.

I was going to post pictures, but it wasn't really that comical.. both pieces just sat side by side with plenty of extra room.

It is a two man operation though. THe pieces are awkward and the headstock is a little hefty.
