New pup, a Black Mouth Cur

Post by ERLover »

I got a new pup from the rescue shelter up north here, they had 3 litter mates from down south, Black Mouth Curs, I never heard about them till then, I always had Beagles, love this dog, that was what Old Yella was in the Disney movie in the 60s, but a blond one.

Mine is the thinner style, like Tucker in the pics.
JPG chime in with your southern knowledge, and I hope you were not too wet from the hurricane.

Greenie, Grayling, SS stand alone BS and BS SPT, jointer and belt sander, 3 Ers with Speed Changers. I think those 3 cover my ER needs, and space for them. :)

Nice looking dog. Reading the link you provided seems to confirm what my daughter is learning with RedBone hound she got. As the link said you must establish and maintain dominance with hunting hounds. If not they become almost cat like and do what they want to do with little or no concern for the rest of the family. Also it is one thing to have a dog bark at the door, especially those little yappy dogs. But you haven't lived until you have hound baying at the door and isn't trained to listen to you screaming shut up.

Would this be one of those "yappy dogs"? Yes, and I have two!
