As I've said before, I purchased a 1955 SS which was in very bad shape. I have been restoring it and getting parts for it as well.
I was told on this board that I have a (Mark 5) period,,,,,,
But when I look for parts I see (Mark 5 500) and 510 & 520 etc.
I looked on SS website for a upper and lower saw guard. It says #A is for SS prior to serial # ........., the for #B it says Mark 5 500. It doesn't give any serial # reference for #B. I'm confused???
Also I bought a jointer that has a stripped part on it. The knob is a bolt and is used for (I believe) to tighten the fence. It screws into a aluminum block that has one side curved.
Does anyone have one of these that I could get??? Thanks

Re: Parts needed for my Greenie
Realize the current generation at SS has little to no knowledge of a Mark 5.
For them there is a Mark V 500(period
).
Folks on e-bay have a similar limited horizon problem.
The 'current' jointer part should be the same as the original.
Saw guards are a problem(WAAAAY too many 'versions'.
FWIW SS does not make a saw guard the same as the 'original'). Realize the Mark 5 came WITHOUT a saw guard. I doubt you would like the original anyway.
