Spare parts thread ? Any thoughts

Post by cooch366 »

As part of my addiction, My name is Steve, and I'm a Shopsmithaholic,, I've accumulated some spare parts along the way.

Some of which I gave to Bill M. On an annual trip to Florida because I had no use for them. But since then, I've got more stuff :)

We know that selling here is taboo, but how about a thread, similar to the "bargain" one, that one could post extra parts to be given away, maybe receiver pays Cod shipping if they can use it.

I have sold a few items on eBay and sometimes it's more hassle than it's worth, I have received so much info, and help, from so many here that I'd have no problem posting some extra stuff that one of us can use, and shipping it out. Kind of another way to help each other out. It's kind of a brother / sister hood here and if one mans trash can be another mans treasure all the better.

So could the be allowed? Good or bad idea? Your thoughts? Let it flow.

Thanks. Steve

I think it is a good idea as long as they are parts the mother ship does not sell anymore. I was thinking about asking for a separate ER Thread.
I dont know how yours would be regulated unless the giver/seller goes to the mother ship site and see if the item is available first from them and if so does not post it.
I am going to wait on the senior fathers with there eternal wisdom come down from there mountain top and chime in here.

Thanks for all the donated Shopsmith parts I have received. I gave out many business cards at my booth during my 11 years of Home Shows. I get retired Shopsmith owners who make crafts to help support them selves. I have been able to repair a few of their Shopsmiths with these parts and at no expense to them over the years. I pray I can get back to doing this again in the coming months.
