Belt sander help!!!!

Post by Rickk »

I recently purchased a used belt sander and have a questions about the tracking knob and tracking screw. Does the screw turn as you turn the tracking knob? If so, how far does the screw go thru the knob?

The screw should remain stationary ( not rotate) but it will move up and down within the frame of the sander. The up and down movement controls tension on the right side of the belt and this action controls the tracking of the belt. If you look behind the tension knob you will see a slot that a tab on the screw rides in. You probably will not be able to see the tab on the screw.
I will try to retrieve some more info for you.

Thanks bill!!! I have watched the video and it shows the side with out the knob but doesn't really explain the side with the tension knob. If you look at a parts list its is parts #1&4 is what I am questioning.
