Extra holes in headrest / used for ???

Post by nuhobby »

Hi,

Just thinking aloud on the other topic of the optional Bandsaw eccentrics.

I wonder if I might "firm up" the bandsaw out on the diving-board end of these long eccentrics, by fabricating a 3rd leg that goes down to the headrest.

The headrest has 2 small holes on either side of the latch-handle, which could be useful. I have no idea if/where those holes get used generally. Anyone know?

Thanks,
Chris

The two holes ar there for 1/4" bolts to hold the base to the bottom of a crate. When I sent mine to the movers, I used Wood screws and washers. That worked too!

Good use! I'll bet most machines see many more allen wrenches than bolts or screws!:D

HI
From an old Shopsmith owners manual they are to hold the allen wrench and the drill chuck key.
