1955 Model 500

I inherited what I believe to be 1955 500 serial #295785 (has been repainted to blue) a few years back which I stored in a barn until yesterday. I plan on overhauling to use the jointer and newer belt sander attachment only as they are the only power tools I lack in my recreational woodworkers shop. It does roll over and as usual I did the no no and moved the speed control without the machine on! Fortunately it still turns over! Now that I learned of the requirement to have it running will not make that mistake again!

Any pointers where I should check out to assist with my plan to first thoroughly clean and lubricate to assess further would be greatly appreciated.

Do you have a horizontal boring machine? Your Shopsmith makes a dandy one. Conical disc sander? I expect that you will be pleasantly surprised at the number of handy functions that it can provide.
