No spacer included. Just the new eccentric bearing. I'll be calling them on Monday...gotta love waiting 2 weeks for them to actually get you the part just to find out you need something else. *sigh*
A new idler shaft with new bearings and no spacer does not make sense.
But then an eccentric too small does not either.

I agree JPG! I'll be calling to try and get this all straight (again) on Monday morning.
The 'spacer' is between the two bearings and is 'inside' the eccentric.

Yes, I have one in my old assembly. The problem is that they've changed the design. The new ones don't have the spacer because all the spacer did before was allow the set screw in the eccentric to grab on to something. With the new design, there is no set screw in the eccentric so there is no need for that spacer which you're talking about. Since the new design has smaller bearings and a smaller eccentric, I almost need a spacer that would go on the outside of the eccentric.
The 'old' design was a water pump bearing. That outer cylinder was the outside of the bearing, not a spacer. The setscrew prevented it from rotating in the eccentric.
With the new design, the two bearings outer races also needed to be prevented from rotating. The set screw would no longer work, so the split eccentric that is squeezed when the casting is tightened was created.
I am wondering if your headstock had been modified by creating a larger bore.
What is the od of the eccentric and the id of the casting bore?

I doubt that SS would make a part that differs by that much accidentally. The new eccentric shaft is used as a replacement during the DIY Power Pro upgrade so it should fit all SS headstock castings regardless of vintage.

Well I inherited this machine and the person I inherited it from has passed so I definitely can't say "for sure." It does have all of the Shopsmith Markings (Name Plate and control arm cover) but I suppose that would be pretty easy to spoof.
