I like the new personal SS ads
Just received my e-mail "Shopsmith Special for Gary". Give the creator a that-a-boy. I'd be interested to know if there is any relationship to my recent dado purchases, or if this is a mass e-mail. Really no difference, I intend to purchase the SS Support Table. Just what I was looking for. Still can't decide about the bandsaw fence. Both might be hard on the budget.

I, too took notice of the personalized E-mails. Don't really think they are a specific product specially targeted to me - just an added "please note that we know you are a customer" wrinkle.
Glad to see someone else is always looking at ways to spend their "woodworking money.

It's sort of a matter of luck, Idh. I ordered a new motor for my Crafter's Station on Tuesday. At the time Gail couldn't tell if the part was available or not. I had asked if she expected it to be back ordered.
I just checked on-line status a few minutes ago and my motor is in the hands of Fedex with a forecasted delivery of Friday, Jul 1, 2008.

Yeah! Dusty and I seem to have a similar problem with days of the week and months of the year. It's an age thing.
However, I think we both still understand the difference between Daylight time and Standard Time. (I Think!)

I don't know! I don't use daylight savings time. Is that why it is dark outdoors right now?

I don't know about the motor that is suppose to be enroute to my shop either. FedEx reports that after two days it is still in Kentucky.
The folks at Shopsmith did their part though. I ordered on Tuesday and on Wednesday it was in Vandalia, OH.

I once had a shipment via FedEX that was kind of funny. It was supposed to come by ground. The estimated date of arrival was 5 days following shipment. The first day the item went from Montana to Atlanta, GA. Then from Atlanta to Lancaster, all within 24 hours. Then it sat here in Lancaster for the next three full days until the delivery date arrived. Obviously, it didn't go by ground! I received the item when scheduled, but the route was strange and I never could understand the waiting period after it arrived in my home town. The tracking message said (during the local waiting period) "not yet scheduled for delivery".
I've always received FedEx shipments exactly when scheduled. They usually take a more direct route.

A real live FedEx representative just told me that the reason why the online tracking report reads the same as the day the package was put on the truck is that the shipment is "a straight line shipment". Meaning it went on a truck in Kentucky and the online tracker won't be updated until it comes off the truck in Tucson.
We'll see. I hope this one doesn't take a sojourn to LA like one in the past.
Anyway, the live voice at FedEx said I should expect it tomorrow. That's great because the FedEx truck normally hits this area about 8:30-9:00am.
PS That's Arizona time - same as LA or is it 11:30-12:00 Dayton time? I don't know - but it's 4 or 5 hours later than when I get up.
