Posted this on Craigslist today and thought some of you might find it amusing - or not.

Dear Dog,

I’m posting this on Craigslist because I don’t know which shelter you were taken to. I know you’re wondering why you are there because you were so good, so well mannered and obedient. Everybody loved you until Christmas and then it all went south. Christmas was the last straw. Everybody praised you, loved on you, said how cute you were, how friendly and lovable. I just couldn’t take it any more.

I’m so sorry about you being sent a shelter for the broken lamp which you did not break; the Christmas tree you didn’t knock over, the turkey that got dragged off the counter that wasn’t something you did; and the expensive wool rug that you did not wet; and all the other minor things you got blamed for. . .

Things here at the house are calmer now, and just to show you that I have no hard feelings towards you, I am sending you a picture of the fun times we had together, so you will always remember me.

Here on the home front, my grandkitten is visiting for Christmas. She normally lives off-campus at the University of Cincinnati. Regardless, she is clearly a very promising ACIT (Abusive Cat In Training).
