tenon master

I have tenon master jig I bought many years ago but never used. the question is, it rides on the base plate ( 517452 ) not on the main bracket ( 516207 ) . the main bracket has 4 square pads on it and that looks to me that is where it should ride on the table as it would be more stable. to repair it you would need to machine the bottom of the main bracket deeper where the base plate fits so it is bellow the main bracket.

thanks for the link. i guess that is the way it is made BUT it just don"t look right in my mind. i do have access to a mill so i could re machine it so it will ride on the 4 corner pads for more stability.

Take a closer look at those 'corner pads'. They are not a precision foot. The design intent is for the flat plate to slide on the tabletop.

i.e. IIWM, I would not mill the slot.
