Old or New Band Saw Backup Rollers?

So, what I'm hearing is that the newer type of backup rollers are not an 'upgrade' from the older, brass ones. That's good to know.

I do not believe that is exactly what you were told but rather a loose interpretation. The fact, however, that there are still bronze bushings in service says something. I believe that it was suggested that as long as the bronze bushing is working, why change it.
