After 50 years of working with power tools at home and on the job I never had a hand injury except not wearing my gloves, once was cutting sheet flooring with a dull blade and went into my index finger, and the other with a cordless drill, again no gloves trying to drill a self tapping screw into a metal post lamb and it went, the Phillips bit into my left thumb meat.
In the shop TS no guard, and just my frameless little eye glasses on.
After seeing this, WOW.More cautious now

Great video. It is one I shown my students on their first day in class.. Not that we do any wood working in class, but just to point out that safety rules around tools may seem arbitrary and silly at times.. But will prevent serious accidents so need to be followed anyhow.

That video certainly makes a point about "kickback". For an educational video, it sure would be nice if the act that causes the incident appeared less deliberate.

Also, do not get the idea that kickbacks occur only with small pieces. My only personal experience was with a 1/4 sheet of 3/4" oak veneered plywood. It might not have moved thru the air as fast as in the video but it happened before I sensed that was to happen.
