New toy coming soon!

Post by roopurt5 »

So, Mike Young was out in Peoria, AZ doing a demonstration last weekend, and as it had been 2 years since his previous visit, I'd finally saved up enough to get my PowerPro headstock. I'm super excited!

Seemed like a pretty good day for him, as he sold 2 new Mark 7s and 2 new headstocks to our demo group, at 11:00AM. Hope the rest of his week was as productive, as more sales is better for keeping the mother ship in business! ;)

Looking forward to getting that in and playing with that a bit! Woo!

Congrats! Mike is a prince of a guy, and a SS guru. I am glad he is doing well with these shows. When I attended one of his shows in Albuquerque, he wasn't faring so well. It is probably kind of hit and miss.

Were you able to bring the PP home, or is it on order?

I know you are going to love it! I have two and if I were a rich man I'd add another one.

When I got my last one the wait was 3 months. No idea how good or bad it is now. In my case it didn't really matter, for one it gave me time to paint up the skull of a headstock I got from Bill. I got the kit again this time so I don't know if that makes any difference in delivery time.

New toys are always NICE :) I was at my mans store today, They had some nice sales on CP Miter saws, I have a cheaper store brand, but other then a soft start and the angled motor, still the same thing, and mine is accurate, now I would like both those features, but for 350$ and have one that works well, minus those 2 features, I took a deep breath, and said "self, those deals will be there WHEN you need to replace the one you have" I was in the want mood, not need mood, which can be hard for a single man who does not have to ask permission or forgiveness. :p

Greenie, Grayling, SS stand alone BS and BS SPT, jointer and belt sander, 3 Ers with Speed Changers. I think those 3 cover my ER needs, and space for them. :)

Dick:

I wish I could have brought it home that day! Alas, no. It's on order. Also, greetings fellow southern New Mexican! I'm from Las Cruces originally, and my folks still live there!

Ed:

Mike said that the headstocks should ship in about 3 weeks, and full units in about 4, so I think they've gotten some supply built up, which is good.

I know that feel! I'm just glad I didn't really get into any of this while I was still a bachelor! I'm very bad about impulse buying when in the "want" mood!

Small world. My folks had a ranch at Lake Valley (near Hillsboro) and they also had a house in Las Cruces. We lived in LC and my brothers and I went to school in Las Cruces from grade school to College (NMSU). :)

There has been a SS Pro Planer on a free stand on CL for about a week by me, $550, I have a old Ryobi 10" that serves me well and my wood supplier has a 52" planer and a 48" drum sander and machine time is cheap, but just made the deal on the SS Pro Planer for 525$, need it to add to the SS stable. No permission or forgiveness, better then the CP miter saw i did not need or this really, but I heard too many good things about them, and the Ryobi I paid 80$ for I will get that back on CL, it is when they were a good tool.
Roopurt, like in the movie, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels????

Dick:

The big question, then: Cruces or Mayfield?

ERLover:

Almost exactly like Dirty Rotten Scoundrels! Good deal on that planer! I'm more than a tad envious!
