Bandsaw Tire Brush

Post by Lodgepole »

I have read where members have mounted a toothbrush, inside of the Shopsmith bandsaw, to keep the lower wheel/tire clean.

Would someone please post a photo of where you mounted a toothbrush?

Also, if you would please add a brief description of how you mounted the toothbrush, ie bolt, hot glue, etc. And, if you used hot glue, how do you remove the glue to replace the toothbrush.

Thanks in advance for this information.

I ran across the thread you're remembering recently, but I can't seem to find the exact thread in my forum search, BUT I did find this thread:
http://www.shopsmith.com/ss_forum/viewt ... aw#p130959 that describes a mount for a brush. I'll keep looking-- I've just replaced my bandsaw bearings and last year I replaced the table. I've done just a small amount of resawing, but I've been harvesting some redwood from my property that we're milling with an Alaska mill, and there's a lot of opportunity for me to resaw some beautiful lumber!

Ranger Phil--

Circa 1991 510 upgraded to PowerPro and 4" casters, standalone SS bandsaw, SS jointer, Craftsman planer, and my 35 year old Craftsman table saw, which works in spite of itself! I'm always learning and never feel fully accomplished.
