Speaking of hawks

On our last Sunday walk we saw a hawk go after some little animal right at the river bank. Not sure what it was as when it went to the tree it was hidden by a large branch. This is the start of the sequence of photos:

That was pretty fast. From start to finish about 2 minutes and 8 seconds. I took 57 pictures in that time. We were waiting to meet our newest grand dog and he missed it all. Of course at 12 weeks old he would have missed it anyway in all likely hood.

That is how it is in nature.
