Mark V - Table Saw Guards

Post by nightrain »

Hi,

Just bought a used Mark V. Not sure what model it is in the sense of 500, 509, 510, etc., but the model number shows 500009-B. It came with a box of tools and attachments. It did not come with any guards for the table saw and a few searches on ebay tell me there are many different models/types of guards and attachments.

I need bit of help with:

1) Pics of how the blade guards attach to my particular model.

2) Any help on a good place to get the actual parts.

Thanks!

A good place to start is with some pix of what you have. ;)

The blade guard you need can be found here:

From the under shot of the table it looks like it once had a guard system, see green arrows.

You will need an upper and a lower blade / dust collection guard.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Shopsmith-Mark- ... SwG-1WtrFo

This seller for example has a lower guard $35 buy it now with $15 in shipping. Not for your model though...

If you need both items, the buy it now option and searching for other items the seller has may reveal one who is selling both the upper and lower guard which will allow them to sell you both and ship in the same box, saving you freight, and the aggravation of bidding.

This one is for a 505/510 not the 500 you have, but you get the idea
