Let me know if you need any parts. I have some extras and if shipping isn't too bad I would gladly donate them to the kids.richardrouse wrote:Congrats!!! i made a similar find over the weekend.
I got a mark V 510
Lathe Duplicator
Over arm pin router
and a ton of smaller accessories all for 200 bucks over the weekend. It is all residing in my classroom as my students and I sort it out and polish it up.

So I am taking it as a sign that I had to take the Mark V to get all of the accessories I really wanted that I need to convert it to a shorty or mini for the band saw/sanding station/routing station.oldiron wrote:We knew you'd pull the trigger on it! Congrats on your latest Gal...
And yes, We would love to see more pics...
Mike
The two 510s will be mounted on the Mark VII/7/old one bases since the MarkVII/7/old one bases fit in my storage cubby better.

Will do, but this was a pretty complete package and I've got a healthy supply of spare parts laying around my shop.

There is so much which can be done with extra parts. Once the mind gets going, All kinds of ideas and plans start coming together...
On several occasions, I have thought about selling some of the extras I have accumulated however, After thinking things over, I figured why not make dedicated equipment using the same headstocks, etc... If one piece goes down, You can easily switch over to another working headstock...
With the machine being based around an advancing quill, All sorts of opportunities are possible!
All the best,
Mike

Re: Brought It All Home Today
I've had a pretty good run lately too.
a 510 with bandsaw, belt sander, scroll saw/blades/files, moulder/blades, shaper/bits, multiple table inserts, mortiser/bits, lots of arbors, lathe drive spurs and live ends, dato blade, some other misc. for $600.
a mark v with no table but a 4 jaw lathe chuck, drive spur for $75.
A prestine goldie with bandsaw, 2 miter gauges, 2 fences, unused lathe tools, saw blades/arbors, magna wobble dato, other misc. bits for $200.
Sorry to hijack the thread, had to tell someone!

I do have to say you just might have a hoarding problem.

Re: Brought It All Home Today
Steamdragon,
I have parted with a 10E, a 10ER and a bandsaw in the last 3 weeks as well as a work bench and bench sander. I think I'm still ahead space wise. I also am going to very likely sell the bandsaw. So far I'm able to justify it and tell myself I'm not hoarding. I seem to enjoy restoring and cleaning up the tools to give them a new lease on life more than I seem to find the time to actually use them for their purpose. At least they're being taken care of here instead of rotting away somewhere like so many seem to do. I also picked up a 1940's jointer recently that I'm working on going through.

Yes he did, and moved Heaven and Earth in the process getting that 10E he originally sold back, swapping / upgrading them to the 10ER, and getting the 10E I wanted, to me. He's not a hoarder, he is a facilitating magician with a kind heart if you ask me.Dave H. (CO) wrote:Steamdragon,

And Richard, (rjent) is the one who found it for me in the first place when I told he and Skip Campbell that I was looking for a 10E.
Great family of brothers and sisters we have here in the forums! Thanks everyone!
