Wobble in Lower Bandsaw Tire

Greetings!

So, I've just received a second set of replacement wheels/tires from shopsmith. I was unable to keep the bandsaw blade in the groove on the backup bearing so I took a moment to look at the tires. The bottom one appears to wobble. Could this be the source of my issue and is there anything I can do to fix the wobble?

I made a vid with the bandsaw blade off and turning the tire by hand. The ruler is there for reference and you can see the tire wobbling.

Is that the first wheel(with the tire crooked), or the second?

I do not think that amount of 'in/out' variation is significant.

If that is the second wheel, the tire is also crooked, although I do not think that is a problem either.

As I asked in the other thread, does the wheel od vary(bump??)?

I assume from your frustration that groove jumping is still happening?

This is the most recent replacement. The issue with this lower tire is the wobble. If it's not significant that's awesome! ... I'll still have to figure out then why the blade won't stay in the backup bearings groove...

I installed the older brass bearings and the cutting quality seems to be good. However, I've been told that I really should figure out why the blade keeps jumping out of the groove because it might point to an ongoing issue.

(For clarity, the tire set that I initially received had poorly mounted wheels which may have caused the blade to jump out of the groove. These new tires were quality checked by the lead engineer and are 'free of wheel defects')

I am not sure of that. Watching your short video, I believe I see evidence that the lower wheel is wobbling. It is a very small amount (1/16") but is that enough to cause the blade to depart from the groove between the bearings. I think so.

Then, is there anything I can do to correct the wobble? I've made sure that the axil is mounted properly and the restraining mechanism is tight.

I've got a few things to do this afternoon but when I return I will take a look at my bandsaw and take a video so we have another point of reference.

I'm not having the problem so it will not really prove anything I guess but it is interesting to see how these machines vary from machine to machine.

I need to do something that I should have done before posting. I need to check the wheel "wobble" on my two band saws. I am not certain that your wobble is any different than mine or if it is even significant.

How much does your blade move with respect to the groove in the bearings?

I did something similar. I clamped a 6" ruler to the top and bottom studs, used to secure the band saw cover, so that they were a very small distance from the rim of both the top and bottom wheels.

I am sorry to report that my wheels wobble very very little; far less than does your one in the video.

Now the problem begins.

You have reported that your wheels are new from Shopsmith and certified to be OK. With that in mind---I am stumped.
