By the way, I have found 10w non-detergent oil a little hard to find locally. The only place I was able to source it was from an O'Reilly Auto Parts store, and they had to get it sent in from another store in the next town over.

Hopefully a helpful suggestion, if anyone else is looking for the stuff. The old Magna jig saw requires it, too, for the crankcase. I have some in a small oil can and I find a lot of other good uses for it around the garage and farm.

Do not get hung up on the #10 oil. Sewing machine, turbine, 3 in one, zoom spout, electric motor oil - it is all #10.

Oh and compressor oil for the jig saw crankcase.

That probably would have been helpful for me to know a couple years back when I was going crazy searching for it. Why don't they publish *that* kind of info somewhere on the packaging? I guess then everyone would realize they are overpaying for it. To that end, I still think the 10w non-detergent is a good deal, for the volume to price ratio, if nothing else.

I left out one detail. MACHINE OIL, not MOTOR OIL. However non-detergent motor oil is close.IIUC

You are probably right. I thought I had read, maybe in older literature about the jigsaw, that a 10w non detergent motor oil was ok. I could be remembering wrong and the difference between motor and machine oil back then also could have been nominal compared to now. I would think a motor oil would be more stable under higher temps, if anything, but I can't think of any drawbacks, unless purity is less of a concern in motor oil production. Just speculating here.

Motor oil has additives(I donno what) and detergent was the major one. In any event you want 'slick'.

I guess anti corrosives and anti foaming agents, etc are probably still in the mix. Wonder how that's affecting my jigsaw.

Greetings all;
As I said after brushing and cleaning off the graphite I have no more downward creep of the table. I think the combination of age, heavy weight of the cast iron table and the vibration of the machine contributed to the creep. The parts probably have some wear after a lot of use, don't forget how old this planer is. I don't know how much wood went through it as I bought it used. I do know that the out feed roller was worn badly and had to be replaced. Luckily I had one on hand from an earlier repair of my Shopsmith mounted planer as stated in an earlier post.
Thanks all for your opinions and advice.

Good morning all;
I have found a quick and simple way to build a movable stand for the pro planer. I think I even have most of what I need to build it. Simple but effective . This is going to be the answer to my problem. Here is the link for you to check out the design.
