Not sure on flash but some smoke a couple of times. Cleaned it out and made sure connections where ok and tries it about 10 times with no hesitation or smoke. It's all good.

Hi, I normally do not comment on blogs. However, I own a Shopsmith Mark V, and the on/off switch stoped working for quite a few years already. I can not turn it off, so the only way to to unplug it to stop. I search and had a very tough time to really identify the exact switch to buy, except might be from SS, or some repair person. I eventually took a chance to order a switch from Superior, the one with 4 prongs in the back, SW7A from Amazon. It's around $10. It fits perfectly and so far it is working fine. I use the left 2 prongs to hook up. My Mark V has only two wire, so I hook up blue wire on the top, and black on the bottom. The switch is rated 20 amp for 125, so it should eliminated the burn up problem. Hopefully this message save someone down to road to find this particular replacement part.
