Ed, it sounds like we are celebrating (?) our birthdays at nearly the same time. On 4/3/1941 the Vandalia hospital hosted my coming out party.
I built a guide from plywood and "T" track some time back. Works great but, it hasn't been used in a few years. At my age, I can't even lift a sheet of 3/4 ply on to the cutting table.
Kudos to you, my friend, for having the fortitude to make use of that Festool guide.
