Wooden music machine
A friend sent me this link and I thought you may enjoy the complex problems involved in building it. http://biggeekdad.com/2016/03/marble-music-machine/

Re: Wooden music machine
That is absolutely incredible. How in the world do you tune that so all the "marbles" always end up in the various funnels for recovery. Unbelievable!!!

I have no idea but figured the engineering involved was intense. The pieces had to be sanded to just the correct angle. I would be doing a lot of testing to get something even close. In the http://biggeekdad.com/2012/04/pipe-dream/, I wondered how they got all the balls to bounce just at the right angle to hit each instrument correctly to make the return funnel as well. It must have been a pipe fitter's nightmare.

Not only is the 'music' computer generated, but so is the 'hardware' and the 'motion'.

The "pipe dream" is a computer generated video/music and has been around for a while, the the marble machine seems to be a real McCoy ....JPG wrote:Not only is the 'music' computer generated, but so is the 'hardware' and the 'motion'.
As a musician and a wannabe wood worker, all I can say is wow to the marble machine!
